Blue-eyed grass forms compact clumps topped with bright purplish-blue, star-like flowers with a bright yellow throat. Perfect for rock gardens or in front of the perennial border.
Penstemons, or "beard-tongues, produce tubular flowers in clusters like foxglove. Plants are best set out in groups for a mass of flowers. After last frost, cut back to 6 inches, for a more compact form. Native Americans used Penstemon roots to relieve toothache.

Goats' beard grows to 4 ft as a dramatic background in shady perennial gardens or naturalized areas, with its creamy-white flower plumes and fernlike foliage.
Pincushion Flower, or Scabiosa, is excellent for cutting, drying, pressing, repelling deer and attracting butterflies. Good for rock gardens, borders, mid-bed plantings, and small group plantings. We carry both lavender and pink varieties of Pincushion Flower.

Variegated Jacob's ladder loves partial shade in well drained soil high in organic matter. It does well in the rock garden, the woodland garden, and in containers. This plant is deer resistant. Shasta Daisies bloom for several months. Shastas mix effortlessly with other perennials.This is a good cut flower, attracts butterflies, is suitable for dried flowers, and serves as a butterfly nectar source. Generally deer will avoid Shasta daisies.
